Stage 3

Details on our Film's opening scene

We wanted to make our opening scene look like a investigation room or police station. So, we decided to film in the main office since it has areas to make it seem like we're in a actually station. In the film there's going to be a detective, victim, and criminal. My classmate Destiny is playing the detective (Detective Johnson), Shyla's playing the criminal (Serena), and Dana is playing as the victim (Dalia). We decided to try and film during school. So, when we fil it can give a real life effect to it. Like how in a police station its busy, you here the phone ringing, etc. Our film will be a crime thriller and it the time of the film will be in 2015 instead of 2022. The film is going to give the audience a sense of anxiety and curiosity. We will be able to do this by using music and lighting. For example, low key lighting with a lot of contrast is great for communicating fear, anxiety, distrust, and evilness.

EXAMPLES OF LOW KEY LIGHTING

Using eerie music to give the audience a off vibe can help make the scene's representation show more. We will be using dialogue to converse with Dalia and Detective Johnson. We'll also use voice over narration to have the voices in Dalia's head be heard by the audience. We'll record the voice over on a recorder and then edit in the actual film later. The story board will show what's going to happen in the opening scene. So its mostly about the interrogation. This is some scene from our story board. Even though it's not so detailed, we tried our best.

We'll be shooting from February 25 through March 3. We'll be using our phones, lights, and a green screen since it's really a certain amount of things we can do in a school.
